Raccoon Lakeside Lodge

We had the absolute best time staying at Raccoon Lake Lodge! Location, location, location we had a birthday party for our daughter & friends. The staff was accommodating to all our needs. The in ground pool was crystal clear, the fire ring had plenty of firewood & the lake was absolutely perfect! I cannot recommend this hidden gem enough. Roger & his staff have done a great job keeping this place up to date!

We were on our way home and just called Raccoon Lakeside Lodge on a whim and spoke to Roger who is the owner. Such a sweet man. He informed us no handicap lodge available at that time, but he had one right on the lake and right next to the pool. I asked about the toilet height because that was important to me. It turned out to be a high one in Unit 1. I do recommend a bar be put into the tub just as a safety addition. It was a bit confusing with the confirmation email I received as it appeared we needed to supply our own bedding and towels. This was not the case. There were two fully made beds in the bedroom and plenty of towels in the bathroom. I do suggest that a tv should be installed in the bedroom. Most people have them in bedrooms and it really was weird not to have that. Unit 1 looked freshly painted, clean, and the appliances were great. We loved the fake fireplace under the tv in the living room. The pool area was good with plenty of lounge chairs. The pool itself was crystal clear and Kim’s husband was doing the pool care while we were there. Kim (Manager), her husband, John (Maintenance), and Mark (Grounds/Dock) were so busy maintaining and upgrading the grounds and lodges while we were there. They certainly are making improvements to the outside and inside of Raccoon Lakeside Lodge. We could see the improvements daily. Two of the men actually blacktopped the drive in front of Unit 1 and another unit while we were there. They did a wonderful job and it was a good improvement. There are patio sets on the decks and gas grills. Any questions we had were answered right away. Another suggestion, since I’m old, is that safety tape/paint be put on the deck steps just as a safety factor. We came back at night a couple times, and the lodge was well lit. The best part for us was the four-legged visitors. Don’t worry for anyone that doesn’t like cats as they won’t bother you. We went and bought food and were feeding them so they were hanging out by us. This is a family friendly place with a fire pit, pool, play set and a beautiful view. Would we go back? Absolutely.

Got a cabin to celebrate my son's birthday. We had an amazing time. Was so much to do. Explore nature, pool, picnic area, fishing, boat rental, hot tub & so much more. Perfect weekend getaway from the city or week in nature, which ever u chose u will be pleased. Staff is friendly & very helpful. We had our service dog with us & she was welcomed & had a great time too. They even have a menu that u can order from or the cabin is filled with everything u need to cook or grill out on the provided grill. Roast marshmallows on the fire at the various fire pits available. We are so excited for our next trip.

View is great from unit 5. Place is like a comfortable pair of shoes. Worn but still usable. Roger, our contact person, was great.

Beautiful lakeside scenery! Wonderful apartment-like amenities. Affordable rates. Staff is great! Close to local restaurants and shopping. Plus, you have to love access to a swimming pool should you not want to swim in the lake. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful lakeside getaway!

Lobby was a mess with no employee in sight. There was a paper sign on the side entrance giving a phone number to check in. I could not get them on the line, and the voicemail wasn't set up. I tried the Google number for the business, but it didn't work. This reservation was made for us by family that lives nearby, so we had to have them reach out to check us in. Once we got into our room, the stale smell was so bad I had to spray eucalyptus lemon bug spray throughout the place. The lighting was majorly lacking, but the windows were also filthy. The kitchen seemed fine, and the floors were nice, but the tv was worthless, and the area rug in the living area was horribly uncomfortable. Would have been better with a bare floor. The shower had no water pressure because the shower head was not installed correctly. I can't emphasize enough how much a bench on the dock would have been appreciated as well as an opened shop in the lobby with spray waterproof sunscreen. Pool was nice and cool with some shade--a glorious reward after climbing the stairs from the dock! We had room 2. The gravel crumbles leading down to it were dangerous. I preferred walking around the left side just for more sure footing. Overall, I hope they make some improvements, so I can adjust this review because this is about the only option to stay in this area.

We are so happy with our stay it was fantastic. Boating, fishing, swimming, camp fires, family! What more can you ask for? The resort has a Very friendly welcoming group! The resort is under new management that has done an incredible job with finding the right maintenance crew to get the job done and new house keeping that has the units looking clean ready for your arrival. If you were here in the past you would not believe all the upgrades and that is inside and out! Outside: From bran new grills, stairs, new decking, lighting, grown keeping, and keeping the pools clean. (Even after heavy down pours) Inside: We seen freshly painted units, some new appliances, ours had a new slated white ceiling it is so so nice, and painted up to date cabinets. You see we were here 3 years ago and it was a nice stay but needed updated and TLC. With rough times, illness and even a death Rodger the owner of Raccoon Lakeside Lodge has now found the right person for management (Kim) and her husband Mark is always there to help when not working his full time job. Kim then found (John) who is the maintenance, right hand man and much more. He has built the stairs done repairs and gets the boats ready. (Im sure I missed 100 other things he does) He coordinates with (Kathy) who is house keeping and does a phenomenal job. With 19 units and that is a lot. (It is no easy task) they will be ready when you arrive. We will return thank you Deb Neal

I had a very nice vacation, there were beautiful views of the lake and sunrise and sunset. It was peaceful. I really enjoyed my stay! The crew that works there were friendly and helpful with local things to do, and the food to try. I will definitely be back.
